Swinging the Lamp: Stories of the Sea.
About the event
Join us for a relaxed and friendly workshop exploring the many ways we connect with Plymouth Sound.
Led by Sam Southern, a PhD researcher at the University of Plymouth working in collaboration with Plymouth Sound National Marine Park, this session invites you to share your stories, memories and experiences of local blue spaces.
We will explore what the sea means to us through conversation, group mapping and creative activities.
The workshop is suitable for people of all abilities. No previous knowledge or particular connection to the sea is needed, and you can take part as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
This workshop forms part of a community heritage research project exploring people’s relationships with the sea, and with participant consent, contributions may help inform future exhibitions and interpretation.
Everyone is warmly invited to come along, and all materials will be provided.
