You can make a difference by supporting our campaigns to protect marine wildlife
Stop Scallop Dredging in Lyme Bay - sign our petition before 21st December 2007!
The Wildife Trusts are calling for statutary protection of all the Lyme Bay Reefs - 60 sq miles, less than 10% of Lyme Bay.
Why? The reefs support rich and varied biological communities of national importance. Scallop dredging destroys both the seabed species and the habitats on which they depend. There is an urgent need to protect the rocky habitats to prevent further damage and allow recovery of seabed communities.

Sign our petition - protect UK seas
The Wildlife Trusts are asking the Government to create Highly Protected Marine Reserves to protect important marine habitats and wildlife. Fishing, dredging and all damaging activities would be prohibited in these areas. Eco-tourism and leisure activities would continue, and would be managed so as not to disturb the wildlife.
Support the petition below and tell the Government that you want better protection for our seas.
Dear Mr Bradshaw,
It is critical that you include in the Marine Bill a system specifically for creating Highly Protected Marine Reserves.
Please complete all boxes.
