Date(s) - Saturday, 22 October 2016
1:00pm - 3:00pm
Wembury Marine Centre
We can discover so much about the sea from what we find washed up on the beach. Mermaids purses can give us a clue as to what sharks, skates and rays live in the area, crab shells, cuttlefish bones, coral skeletons and much more often litter our beaches.
October seas are generally more choppy so lots of treasures can be found on our shores – join us to discover more about our oceans!
This event will be combined with a beach clean (strandline items usually blend in with the seaweed so if we’re finding more obvious pieces of litter we often discover the hidden items at the same time!!) and an optional survey (simple tally on a recording form with images).
NB: This event will take place on Langdon beach around the corner from Wembury so there will be a short coast path walk – please wear appropriate footwear, dress for the weather and bring a water bottle (facilities on main Wembury beach only)
