Wembury Marine Centre and the Wembury Marine Conservation Area Advisory Group will host Steve Trewhella and Julie Hatcher, the authors of “The Essential Guide to Beachcombing and the Strandline,” for a beachcombing weekend 16 and 17 April.
Saturday 16th April, 1430—1630 £3 per person
Meet at Wembury Marine Centre before joining Steve and Julie for a strandline walk along Langdon Beach. We’ll look at what the tide washes up as well as setting invertebrate pitfall traps to investigate Sunday morning.
Saturday 16th April, 1900—2100, £2 donation per person
Join us at the Marine Centre for an illustrated talk and Q & A session with Steve and Julie. They will talk about some of the extraordinary things that wash up on our beaches and show us lots of beachcombing treasures. Please feel free

Sunday 17th April, 1000—1200, £3 per person
Round off the weekend’s events with a walk back to Langdon Beach to examine the pitfall traps and any other items that washed in over the night’s high tide.
All events are family friendly, however the evening talk will be most suited to an audience with a keen interest in the sea.
Booking essential for all three events, payment by cash on the day.
